Former Associate Professor of German and the Study of Religion :: Department of German Languages and Literatures
Professor Kirakosian’s research centers on medieval Europe with a focus on women’s religiosity in Germany.
Her publications include studies on medieval German mysticism, female sanctity and medieval law. Her doctoral thesis Schrift- und Schreibmystik – Christina von Hane deals with the biography of a thirteenth-century Premonstratensian nun. The next book project explores the late medieval vernacular reception of Gertrude the Great.
Professor Kirakosian is currently Professor of German Studies at Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg.
