Jean Ryoo

I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Harvard University (in Visual & Environmental Studies), my Master’s of Education and Teaching from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa (with teaching credentials in middle and high school English and Social Studies), and my Doctor of Philosophy in Education from the University of California, Los Angeles.

I have experience teaching (and learning from) pre-K through university students in afterschool programs, museum settings, public schools, and universities.

In April 2021, I received the Jan Hawkins Early Career Award from the American Educational Research Association.

I am available for speaking engagements, and have been invited speak at a range of events, including the 2021 Computer Science Teachers Association Conference (closing keynote), National Academy of Sciences Webinar Series (invited panelist), San Francisco Unified School District (invited speaker, Inclusive STEM+CS Summit (invited keynote), etc.
